✨ Reflecting on 2025 | Welcoming 2026 with Gratitude and Purpose ✨ As 2025 draws to a close, I look back with immense gratitude on a year filled with meaningful engagement in academia, research, consultancy, skill development, and industry–institution collaboration in the field of Civil Engineering. The journey throughout the year strongly revolved around advanced concrete technology, low-carbon materials, sustainable infrastructure, and digital construction. 📚 Research & Consultancy The year witnessed contributions through research publications in reputed international journals including Journal of Building Engineering, Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, and Journal of Building Pathology and Rehabilitation. Funded research initiatives such as the IEI R&D Grant-in-Aid PG Project on Performance Evaluation of Limestone Calcined Clay (LC3) in Marine Bridge Column Corrosion and consultancy works including performance evaluation of protective systems in RC structures and DPR preparation projects for TNPCB added strong practical relevance to academic pursuits. 🎓 Student Mentoring & Academic Excellence Mentoring remained at the heart of all activities, with guidance provided to three PhD scholars (two full-time and one part-time) and five PG students, including doctoral guidance to Dr. S. Divya and Dr. K. Gayathiri. These efforts were humblingly recognized through the Best Mentor Award for PG & PhD Thesis Guidance and the Dr. Sundaramoorthy Award for Outstanding Academic Contribution at PSG College of Technology. 🏗️ Events, Training & Knowledge Dissemination During 2025, expert lectures were organized on themes including Enhancing Industry Research at HEIs, Special Concrete for Iconic Structures, Traditional Eco-friendly Construction, Learning from Failure through Structural Retrofitting, Opportunities in the Design Field, and Recent Trends in Civil Engineering. In addition, several impactful programs were organized such as the National Level Cube Contest, Training Programme on Advanced Concrete Practices, International Workshop on Low-Carbon and Lean Approaches to Resilient Green Infrastructure, and a Workshop on Land Record Management, alongside major college-level events like the First Year Orientation Programme and 75th Foundation Day of PSG College of Technology. 🤝 Industry Connect, MoUs & Outreach Strengthening industry–academia collaboration remained a key priority through Industry Connect Programs with organizations including Pricol Ltd, Sahayatha Healthcare, SACON, High Energy Batteries, COMRADO, SATIQ, ZF Wind Power, Propel EV, Techazar, Wipro Technologies, Bosch, and Emerald. Collaborations were further strengthened through MoUs with Lakshmi Precision Tools Limited, High Energy Batteries, Construction Skill Development Council of India, and Adani Cement, along with outreach initiatives such as the MSME M-Sand Accelerator for Sustainable Development. 🔬 Academic Enrichment & Infrastructure Development Additional academic contributions included initiating the Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series, preparing infographics for various NDT techniques, contributing to editorial responsibilities, and reviewing research articles. Research infrastructure was enhanced at the Advanced Concrete Research Laboratory (ACRL) with the commissioning of an Accelerated Carbonation Chamber and an Electrical Resistivity Meter, strengthening durability and sustainability-focused research. 🏆 Skill Development & National Engagement It was an honour to serve as a Jury Member for the IndiaSkills Competition – Digital Construction, contributing to the assessment and promotion of BIM-enabled and digitally driven construction competencies among emerging professionals. 🙏 Gratitude I sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude to PSG College of Technology, my research scholars, students, colleagues, industry partners, professional bodies, funding agencies, and all stakeholders whose constant support, collaboration, and trust made 2025 a truly enriching and impactful year. 🌱 Welcoming 2026 As I welcome 2026, I look forward with renewed enthusiasm to deeper collaborations, impactful research, meaningful mentoring, and continued contributions toward innovation, sustainability, and skill excellence in Civil Engineering. ✨ Onwards with purpose, collaboration, and commitment. , and New-year Card

Description

At the top of the image, in bold, hand-lettered script with playful rebar flourishes and tiny leaves, add: “Concrete thanks, steel resolve—onward to 2026!”

Scene to illustrate:

- A cozy, hand-drawn, cute civil-engineering panorama at golden hour. A winding, ribbon-like pathway subtly forms the shape of “26” as it arcs over a calm, teal river, leading toward a warm sunrise. Behind it, a gentle series of stepping-stone concrete cubes recedes into the background, hinting at the journey through the past year.

- Center-left “Reflection Grove” for 2025: miniature vignettes nestled in a wreath of laurel leaves—an open research journal stack beside a microscope; a friendly, anthropomorphic concrete cube (with rosy cheeks and rebar arms) high-fiving a lab flask; a marine bridge column standing in gentle waves wearing a cute protective jacket; a shield hugging an RC beam; a clipboard and blueprint rolled into a bow for consultancy and DPR work; a sparkling test chamber (accelerated carbonation) and a cheerful handheld meter with curled leads (electrical resistivity), both smiling.

- Mentoring & awards: a kind mentor figure in a hard hat and cardigan, guiding eight tiny mortarboards (three with golden tassels for PhD, five in pastel shades for PG) that float like fireflies; two little ribbon rosettes glowing subtly.

- Knowledge-sharing & events: mini icons arranged like ornaments—an adorable concrete cube with a medal, a tiny mixer truck with leaf decals, a retrofitting brace hugging a column, a scroll-and-compass for land records, a globe sprouting green infrastructure, and a lectern with twinkly sparkles.

- Industry connect & MoUs: cute handshake characters encircled by tiny gears, a wind turbine and a solar panel waving, a stylized EV charger, and a softly glowing parchment tied with a ribbon symbolizing agreements. No logos or brand text—use abstract, friendly iconography.

- Digital construction & skills: a tablet projecting a holographic wireframe building (with pixel-sparkle stars), a drone with a smile scanning a site, and a small golden trophy with a BIM-like cube top.

- Gratitude tapestry: a subtle halo of tiny hearts, leaves, and stars flowing from students, colleagues, and partners toward the sunrise—conveying appreciation without extra text.

- Foreground details: sprigs of greenery sprouting from low-carbon concrete pavers; a small LC3-like sack implied by color blocking and a leaf icon (no text), and a gentle crane in the distance hanging a heart-shaped beam.

- Palette & style: warm marigold, terracotta, coral, sage, and teal with soft cream paper texture; fine linework and textured brush strokes; round, cheerful proportions; sparkly, cute highlights. Balanced composition that lets the headline shine.

- No additional text anywhere except the single headline.
